This city has the biggest vacation budget in Colorado

It’s holiday shopping season.

The holiday season brings so much to our lives. Christmas lights and decorations are taking over just about every business. Holiday music is filling all the speakers around us. And there is nothing better than grabbing a mint mocha and browsing the stores for the perfect gifts.

Well, until you see the total in the register.

Of course, the idea of your adorable child opening this gift or your Aunt Sally unwrapping this gift with a big smile is on your mind. Yet, in the back of your mind, you can already see drops of sweat running down your forehead when you see that credit card bill coming up in January.

This is where budgeting comes in.

And let’s face it, everyone’s budget is different. Some cannot afford to go crazy, while others adopt a “let go and let God” policy. I’m not saying you shouldn’t be generous, nor am I saying you should be stingy. I’m just saying there are other ways to show love at Christmas without giving a gift under the tree.

But that’s another post for another time.

Back to the budget.

Recently, WalletHub compiled a list of “Vacation budgets by cityTo determine how much each of the cities listed could spend this year, they looked at income, savings each month, spending each month, population, age and more.

It looks like Highlands Ranch, Colorado has the largest budget in our state and the 39th overall.

Their Santa-sized budget averages around $ 1,904. That’s reasonable compared to the largest budget in the country owned by Flower Mound, Texas at $ 3,427. In fact, Texas cities accounted for three of the top five budgets.

Sure, they haven’t looked at every city in the country, but the smallest vacation budget this year belongs to Miami, Florida at $ 115. Now it’s more my style. Yes, I’m cheap … like Scrooge.
