Raleigh takes over UK distribution of Babboe cargo bikes – Business
Raleigh has announced that it is taking over the UK distribution of Babboe Cargo Bikes.
The company launched its own Stride line of electric cargo bikes last year and said it was also excited to take on Babboe.
From today a UK specific range of Babboe bikes, accessories and spare parts will be stocked in the Raleigh warehouse in Nottingham with the support of local account managers, as well as expert in-house warranty and support teams.
Lee Kidger, Managing Director of Raleigh UK, said: “The pandemic has changed people’s habits and lives forever, consumers are more aware of the need to be more sustainable, which influences products and services than they buy.
“Electric cargo bikes offer sustainable, low-cost transport for families and businesses, and represent a huge opportunity for UK retailers, with the market set to grow tenfold over the next five years.
“Babboe UK will be available as an extension of Raleigh UK, offering the widest range of Cargo e-bikes in the UK under one roof.”
The creation of Babboe UK will streamline Raleigh’s operations, provide more support and availability to retailers, and improve the customer journey, Raleigh said. This is believed to be the right step to continue Babboe’s success alongside Raleigh cargo bikes and facilitate growth in the years to come.
Business benefits are the main reasons for the change, Raleigh said, and the company said it’s confident current and future retailers will be happy with this approach.

Babboe was founded in the Netherlands in 2005 by a group of parents looking for the ideal, affordable and quality cargo bike. Two years later they launched the Babboe Big cargo bike, and Babboe is now available in over 30 countries around the world.
