Logan Karnow opens up about best 2021 Supercross of his career, gives 2022 season preview
âJulien wanted to start helping a guy in supercross and I was one of the first guys he supported. He’s still like my second dad,â says Karnow. It was less stressful knowing I had support to fix it, it was so helpful when I had nothing.
In 2021, Karnow joined Bubba Pauli’s international Supercross team.
âI just wanted a change of pace. It was amazing to have her help, ârecalls Karnow. There he had the chance to work with Pedro Gonzalez, the fastest rider ever produced by Mexico. “If I had a bad race, [Gonzalez] didn’t want me to dwell on this. He was like, ‘Okay, you’ve got a good start. Or, ‘Your first few laps were good.’ Always find bright spots here and there, âLogan said. He said to me: âI remember seeing him on the Pro Circuit bikes. It was exciting to have him there. He was changing our air filters. He just wanted to help.
The 2021 Monster Energy AMA Supercross season has been the best of Karnow’s career. He finished tenth overall in the 250SX West Region, his best result being a seventh in Salt Lake City 1. Karnow realizes that the competition has been largely hurt, but maintains that “staying healthy is a big step. part. I was one of those people who didn’t make a stupid mistake. And I took advantage of it.
A moment he will never forget in Season 21 came in the third round in Houston, Texas. He was in the second 250SX heat race in which he had his best start of the season. He took the lead out of the first corner and seemed to be heading straight for the main one. Unfortunately, he made a mistake at the end of the first round and ended up in what many call the âSteve Matthes Memorial Netsâ. Aaron Plessinger and Jason Anderson, who were heading for the gate for the first 450SX heat race, were saved by nothing but the net. Logan was disappointed but said it’s not that bad. He publicized it a lot. All things Considered; it has been an impressive year.
