Jawa Meteor competition spotted »MotorOctane

Jawa is a brand that has stayed true to its roots in retro-styled motorcycles. In 2018 Jawa released three motorcycles, the Jawa 42, Standard and Perak, these motorcycles quickly became popular. Jawa plans to expand its portfolio and add new bikes to its product line. We recently received spy photos of what appears to be another Jawa bike that could be a direct rival to the Royal Enfield Meteor doing their test sprints. In this article, we’ll discuss what the brand’s Jawa Meteor contest looks like and what it has to offer.

Jawa Design

The retro style design is the key feature of Jawa bikes. Round headlight and mirrors, wide comfortable seat, wide rear fender, teardrop-shaped fuel tank and turn signals. The tail light and rear fender appear to have a whole new design. The new bike tested by Jawa appears to have similar dimensions to the 42. This Jawa Meteor competition might share the same platform as the 42, but this new cruising bike will be reworked. According to spy photos, the passenger seat appears to be longer than other Jawas currently on sale. The dual shock rear suspension setup is angled relative to the Jawa 42. The dual exhaust also looks like the Jawa 42. Some parts were visible in the spy photo that looks like the 42. The new Jawa bike has an upright seating position with a wide, raised handlebar and advanced footrests. The long, wide saddle feels comfortable for riders and passenger on long journeys. You can expect a semi-digital instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity.

Jawa 42 facelift

This new bike that has been tested could be a cruiser from Jawa and could get the same 334cc engine currently available on the Perak. The BS6-compliant 334cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder petrol engine produces 30 hp and 32.74 nm of torque combined with a six-speed manual gearbox. The bike will be fitted with standard telescopic forks up front and dual rear shocks with front and rear disc brakes. We expect the bike to have a choice of alloy wheels and spoked wheels, dual-channel ABS, and Bluetooth connectivity. This new bike from Jawa will be launched at a competitive price where it will compete with other 350cc bikes from Royal Enfield and the upcoming 400cc Bajaj Avenger.
